Mine looks like the bottom one. Searching the interwebulator, there doesn't appear to be a way to rebind. Most people got for the second mouse, or gaming keyboard option. You need something by Kensington. They have a scroll 'ring'. I think this is their entry level model, and I know their top line ones require a mortgage http://us.kensington.com/html/4771.htmlThe rotating bezel thing around the ball. Meant this one anyway http://us.kensington.com/html/17762.html

Unless my vision's starting to go, the Kensington you posted has no scroll wheel either. Not going to go through the hassle of replacing my mouse for a demo. Was hoping to find some way to bind zoom to either +/- or page up/page down as you said before. Maybe there's a UI mod that does the trick, but honestly to have to get a UI mod just for a demo.... Just the fact alone that there's no option for this in settings, has helped me make my decision whether or not to spend the time and money on this one. Can you guess what my decision was?

Yes, those were the first keys I tried, no luck. The first photo here is the mouse I use. I had the second one as well. However, I've been using the first one for so long, the positioning of the ball on the second one being off center made the device very uncomfortable to use. If the mouse in photo 1 had a scrollwheel directly behind the ball and set in between the left and right buttons I'd be in heaven. Have yet to see one like that though.
Edit: There isn't any option within settings to keybind keys for camera zoom in or out.

Have you tried +/- and Page up/down?
I'll have a look when I log in later. How old's your trackball? My Logitech one has a scroll wheel on it :/

So, is there any way to zoom camera in and out without using the scrollwheel? I use a trackball mouse and have been for better part of 10 years now. I don't intend to switch my mouse, as a traditional mouse is as foreign to me as a trackball mouse is to you. I see no option to bind any keys for camera zoom within options. Am I missing something within options?

I've tried FFXIV a few times now. I really don't 'get' it. Then again, I had the same trouble with FFXI.
I've been flitting between DDO and AoC, with a bit of SWtOR in between. There really is nothing on the horizon that I'm looking forward to. Well, maybe Everquest Next, but that's only because I loved the original so much.

This image just popped into my head... On a side note, FFXIV is just as much of a time sink that FFXI used to be... and it looks nicer. Only down side is theres shit for classes right now but they always release the good ones later.

My friends and i have been playing APB along with bad company 2 and counterstrike, but yeah the new games that have been coming out have all been flawed in some way that people rage quit. We have been moving into the world of tabletop gaming more lately along with airsoft. (I'm front left looking away)
